Bethan and Robin: Tales from abroad

We got to gatwick without a hitch, boarded the dodgy plane which looks like it would be more at home in the skrap yard than the sky.

We arrived in Kaliningrad only to discover that our visas werent valid till the day after! Our mistake was made as we arrived in St Petersburg on the 16th at 2.am, howevewr we were transfering from kaliningrad at 10p,...the 15th. Our visas were valid from the 16th! So we were held captive in arrivals, unable to even enter the airport untill 12 on the dot. We held up an entire plane for over an hour, but to our relief we made it to St Petersburg!!

TOday we have just been getting our bearings, and looked at a magnificant church with lots of elaborate gold blobby things and jesus in various poses adorning the outside. Weather is great. Tomorrow we plan to check out the Hermitage, and practice our russian. DA.

It is 11.15pm here, and the sky never gets dark, so we're are off for a walk in the everlasting twilight...
